Victim Services Wellness

RurAL CAP provides culturally grounded support across Hooper Bay, Chevak, and Scammon Bay through three key programs: a 24/7 shelter offering trauma-informed services for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors; a Child Advocacy Center delivering education and referrals for children impacted by abuse, separate from shelter housing; and the Hooper Bay Wellness Program, which promotes alcohol abuse prevention and community resilience through cultural activities and an annual Sobriety Celebration.

Bay Haven Women’s Domestic Violence Shelter

Bay Haven is a shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Hooper Bay. This trauma-informed and culturally appropriate shelter provides services that are available to every tribal member of Hooper Bay, Chevak, and Scammon Bay, regardless of current residence.

Hooper Bay Wellness Program

The Hooper Bay Wellness Project works to prevent substance abuse through locally identified initiatives that increase community cohesion and resilience. The project uses an evidence-based process known as the Strategic Prevention Framework to assess needs, plan, build capacity, implement, and evaluate progress.
