In partnership with the Sea Lion Corporation and the Hooper Bay Community Planning Group, RurAL CAP promotes comprehensive wellness and alcohol abuse prevention through the Hooper Bay Wellness Project.  

Built upon Hooper Bay’s existing wellness coalition, the Community Planning Group, our wellness project facilitates activities that involve cultural learning, family wellness workshops, and next-generational planning and life lessons. 

A predominate activity is the Annual Sobriety Celebration of Life event each spring. The week-long festival involves a variety of events such as ceremonies, sober dances, craft projects, language lessons, cooking/nutrition classes, storytelling, and talking/healing circles. The event honors community members who are in recovery and gives everyone the opportunity to share their story.
